So..I've spent all of last week cleaning and packing up the apartment..and getting ready for the big move into our new house  (our first house..we are super excited!)  I created this weekly checklist to keep up with the cleaning of the new house...it's cute..chevron of course!..and can hang on the back of your laundry room door...I'm going to laminate mine and use a dry erase marker to check off...

Click here to download this chevron cleaning checklist!

..some things awesome pinterest cleaning/moving hints, tricks, and tips I used (and worked!):

-use Ivory soap to fill small nail holes (amazing!)

-soak oven racks with hydrogen peroxide/white vinegar
-suck up cobwebs and dust blinds with vacuum cleaner hose
-roll up jewelry one necklace at a time in a dish towel to keep from getting tangled
-pack dishes vertically to keep from breaking
-use towels to wrap breakables

Vintage books...

I picked up these vintage books while shopping at some quaint shops with a dear friend of mine last week...also picked up a few milk glass vases!
I have been on the hunt for old books all summer.. These were found in a couple of shops tucked away and left to be forgotten...
I plan to use them in an upcoming wedding I am designing for this fall.. maybe wrap a few with burlap and lace?
Over a hundred years old and I was able to buy them for $1-$3 dollars each!
There are a few names in the covers..and notes written on the pages..
and even a riddle or two...

Fridge Menu

I combined all my favorite tested and approved Pinterest recipes with some recipes that I already make..and make well..and created this mini poster for the side of my fridge... Maybe I will laminate it, star what we we want to eat that week, then take it with me grocery shopping  There's probably an app for that..huh?  I'd rather see it.. then scroll thru and have to find it though.. I think this will make my weeknight meals..a teeny bit more organized...I'd rather look at this and pick out what we want to eat..than to stare at a piece of frozen chicken on a Wednesday night..contemplate how long it takes to thaw..then scroll thru my pinterest food board...get sidetracked pinning things that look delicious but don't have the ingredients for..then either deciding to cook at 9pm or ordering pizza!  Weeknight dinners should be easy and fail proof.. the weekends are for experimenting!

Mason Jar Summer Trifles!

1.  Cut a Sara Lee pound cake into slices. (Cut the brown edges off.)
2.  Cut a Duncan Hines orange cake into slices. (I made the boxed cake mix.)
3. Mix together a container of Cool Whip and Cool Whip Cream Cheese Frosting.
4. Layer the cakes, whipped cream mixture, strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries..and you done!

Garnish tip:  Tie mason jars with raffia (or ribbon) and a wooden spoon OR use cute gingham printed cupcake liners over the lid and twist on the ring over the liner and present your mason jar trifles in a wicker basket!
